PROJECT
Alarm.com
With over five year tenure at Alarm.com as the Brand Identity Designer and time following as a private contractor, Megan’s notable design work for this brand includes: event branding and tradeshow exhibit booth design, print collateral such as hardware catalogs, brand guide creation, and digital HTML5 banner ads—among many other projects and mediums. The below samples are just the tip of the iceburg, as Megan worked on thousands of projects during her partnership with Alarm.com.
The brand guide
This refresh project took Alarm.com's original brand guidelines from 15 page to 50 pages. It was meticulously crafted to include all information needed for 5+ internal design teams and the greater company to create materials that look like they were designed by the same person. This approach achieves a consistent look, feel, voice, and tone that can form a unified approach.
Featured within this guide is a sample of icons that are a part of a 300+ icon library that Megan hand-made and maintained throughout her tenure to further unify the brand across designers and across the company. To further support self-sufficiency, creation process was documented so any icon with any subject matter could be designed by anyone, while fitting in with the greater living library.
Life before the big refresh
A brand is a living and breathing entity that should evolve as time progresses and the company evolves. While the above is how Megan helped reshape the brand for a complete overhaul, this is the brand Megan inherited when she joined Alarm.com and how she massaged the preexisting framework.
The Previous Brand Guide
Tradeshow booths, exhibits, + large-scale designs
Designing 40'x60' tradeshow spaces and experience centers that can have 30+ different panels with 2 gigabyte file sizes is no small feat. Not only do the files need to be set up correctly based on the build-out vendor's specs, the walls must be designed to engage audiences and to let the brand sing on one of its biggest stages. Other large-scale branding experiences include vinyl pillar wraps, oversized mirrors decals, column wraps, elevator wraps, and enlarged signage for conferences to create an immersive, branded event experience.
Alarm.com's biggest public industry tradeshow of the year, ISC West, awarded Alarm.com with a 'best booth' recognition for Megan's solo work on the 2023 display.

Print collateral
Sales and marketing flyers, booklets, brochures, training workbooks, white papers, and hardware catalogs are among common types of print collateral designed to achieve a consistent look while pushing the brand further. Whether it's a single page flyer or a 60+ magazine—The Mega Creative Company has experience with it all.
